Re: Question on Daihatsu VVT (EF-VE 3Cyl. 660cc)
Thank your replay.
I check the signals IGT 36-1 tooth Triggerwheel (on EX cam) and VVT 3 tooth (on IN cam). I'll test MS3 Pre 1.4 beta 10 and report result.
Do you have what I keep doing something before the test ?
Do I make the VVT 3 tooth VR wiring to reverse ?

Have you tested the firmware on the engine yet?

Re: Question on Daihatsu VVT (EF-VE 3Cyl. 660cc)
Today, I tested MS3 Pre 1.4 beta 10.
Unfortunately VVT could not work this firmware.
I conected wires of secound VR sensor(3 tooth on intake cam for VVT) shown below.
(I turned over up and down the "CAM3-tooth-Triggerwheel" waveform of "IGT36-1-CAM3-tooth-Triggerwheel.jpg")
VR+:MSX3 32pin Cam input
VR-:MS3 7pin Sensor ground
VR shield wire:MS3 2pin Crank sensor shield
I setted "Single wheel with missing tooth" and "Main wheel speed = Cam Wheel".
Engine could run normally, but VVT cam signal was not shown on composite logger.
I could not find "Log crank and cam" mode of composite logger on Tunner studio MS v2.6.14.
"Dual wheel with missing tooth" also I've tried, but it was the same result.
Plz teach me, how do I determine whether VVT cam signal is entered MS3+MSX3 correctly.

Re: Question on Daihatsu VVT (EF-VE 3Cyl. 660cc)
I loaded your MSQ and took a composite log - the cam signal from my JimStim shows up. That suggests you have a problem with the cam signal electrically.
"Log crank and cam" is a setting on the Ignition settings page. Enable that, power cycle, then take a composite log.

Re: Question on Daihatsu VVT (EF-VE 3Cyl. 660cc)
I thank you for your advice.
I was easy mistake.
Wiring of the VR sensor has broken, did not reach the signal to MSX3 CAM input. Easily VVT after connecting the wiring correctly began working. (Barometer has measured the Inter-coller pressure)
Now I'm setting VVT PID parameters.

Re: Question on Daihatsu VVT (EF-VE 3Cyl. 660cc)
Hi francia,
We are also thinking of doing a project with a Daihatsu EF-VE engine. I was intersted in knowing how your experience has been so far. What are things we should avoid?
Thanks
