can any ground be used for the Date switch, or does it HAVE to be a MS ground ?

Re: Data log switch
I believe that any ground should work, but if you don't want any noise or possible signals on the ground I would run the ground wire to the spare grounds from the ecu or at least run your ground wire to the ecu ground point. better safe than sorry or irritated by ground problems.

Re: Data log switch
i have a micro switch panel, and i was going to use one of the spare buttons for the data logger. BUT its a grounding switch not a 12v line. multiple switches share the same grounds and i don't want that load on the MS> SO, i will give it a shot, and if i don't like it, i can always use a relay. thanks guys.

Re: Data log switch
Using signal ground is preferred, but switching to body ground (for this input) should work too - the switch inputs on the MS3X have protection.

Re: Data log switch
I have always just run my one side of a momentary switch to the chassis right next to switch and it has always worked fine.
