For less confusion I start new thread after I made some expiriments with a issue.

I was running MS3x and 1.1.x firmware for about 2 years without any problem, running over 1000hp, daily driver car.

For a few weeks agow I upgraded to 1.3.1 and got strange issue.

When I accelerate and boost more then 250 kpa the engine just dies, RPM drops and everything just dies and Tuner studio goes OFF line.
Sometime the engine wakes up after a about 20 seconds but mostly I have to start it again

When I sent the old msq file then i got some errors about VVS and boost constrol and message that the code dont match the firmware, i loaded anyway.
So i though maybe it was the reason of the issue.

So yestarday I rebbot the ecu and loaded latest ms3 1.3.2.
To avoid error I made a new tune from the begining and did not use old msq.

Here comes MSQ, datalog, trigger log, tooth log and composit log

I realy want my good ms3x back!
But i get the same issue and it allways happes at the 3th gear when it less spinn

Another strange thing when I did some setting at rev limiter and acel time based then I could not rev if the tps is allmost 100% or 100%
Not even at idle. RPM just drops and it feels like ASL if i stil keep holding TPS at 100%

If I change setting back the issue is stil there.
So I must open my recent msq to akip this issue.

Here comes msq and datalog

Do you think guys I should go back to old firmware and try because I dont get smarter anymore about this issue :cry:

in that log there is nitrous retard going on looks like that is pulling timing causing the rev limit
1990 bmw 320i daily driver with m20b25 ms3 sequential fuel, 380cc injectors, d585 coil near plug, home made cam sync, launch control, fan control, vss, homebrew egt logging what's next????

It is the same issue even when the nitous is OFF.

can you get a log without the nos? all i can see with that log is its cycling in and out of the nos thing.

Oh yes you have right, it is the second log, yes its nitrous , secound issue is solved, thanks!
But the first log is without nitrous when everything just drops.

Note that on the datalog so it looks like the ECU is still running after the drop/break but in reality it is quite dead and lose even contact with tuner studio.

What do you think guy the most stabil firmware and where can I fint the old 1,1,x firmware?
Otherwise I have no ides left what to troubleshoot?

Can you record and post some SDcard datalogs? As they are recorded internally, perhaps they might show something different?

Old release codes are found under "old versions" on the Downloads page.

James I loaded back 1.1.2 and now I have lost sync reason 17 instead, exactly like fore!
When I start the engine the rpm just drops down and it can not find full sync.

I had this issue before with a older firmware-

If you are running the same firmware as before with the same tune then it will work the same.

If it behaves differently, I would suspect something outside of the Megasquirt.

To be honest I dont remember exactly what firmware I had before .
I remember it was 1.1.X
And sometimes I had lost sync error 17 when I started the engine for a about 10 sec.

When I upgraded for the first time for a few weeks agow to 1.3.1 then the sync lost 17 was gone and the engine just start perfect like never before.
But instead I got sync error 2 when I boost more then 250 kpa at the 3th gear.

Then I upgraded to 1.3.2 and it is stil the same issue error 2 just like 1.3.1.

Now I loaded 1.1.2 and got my old issue back error 17 each time I start the engine.

I check everything outside the ECU and tryed with a new sensors without any difference.

This is strange that issue comes with a firmware.
error 17 with a 1.1.2 and error 2 with a 1.3.1 and 1.3.2

If you created datalogs or saved tunes (online) from the old firmware you can see exactly what version you were running. Open them in a text editor and it says right at the start.

As you are getting some kind of sync-loss with either code family, it strongly suggests that you do have a tach-in problem. I've not looked at your data yet.

I thought about one thing that my errors I have had has been growing the last 2 weeks.

Before, with the old firmware when I had error 17 as it came only occasionally when the engine was hot. In recent time, it came more and more frequently, and now the error is constant, every time I start the car.

Same with the newer firmware with error 2 when it came it came only occasionally and now it constantly at each attempt.

So maybe there is a possibility that something has happened to the ECU hardware?

Because I've done the same ms3x installation setup lot of times on the exact same engine and it has always worked flawlessly.

I looked through the various logs that you've posted.

In the old composite logs you are getting false triggers on the cam every so often, that's the "reason 17". The newer firmware handles this more smartly and doesn't care about the cam once it has synchronised to the crank and cam at startup.

The composite logs for newer firmware don't capture the sync-loss, so I can't comment on what is going on there.

If you use the "Sync error logger" it should record exactly what happened at the time of sync-loss. That's what I need to see.

the tooth log looks funny around the missing tooth area, you see the really short pulses near the long one?? is that possibly a noise issue someone may be able to confirm.
