this is on a MS3X 1.3.2 ts 2.6.04 I am using D585 coils
What is the goal of the dwell battery voltage correction
1) keep the same dwell at different battery voltages
2) provide the same spark energy at different battery voltages
I Have a large 30 AMP DC variable power supply. I hooked the voltage output to the relay panel that has my engine management stuff on it.
In tuner studio i added the dwell gauge
I set the power supply to 13.2 volts and started the car. I opened the Dwell Battery correction window. the default values where 6-16 volts and 500-88%. The dwell gauge said 4.2ms.
I reset the voltage scale to 9.5 to 14.7 volts. (i might adjust this later). when I turned the voltage down to 9.5 volts the dwell was over 8ms. Depending on the sources you read depends on if these coils have over-dwell protection. I adjust the % to get back to 4ms (what nominal dwell is set to in ignition settings), it ended up being at about 100%. I did the same for all the voltages I specified and they all ended up about 100%. I can't recall if my AFR changed during this time or not.
I was wondering if this would be the right way to set this up ? Based on the information i have read I have confused myself. I can't figure out if it is should be 4 ms across the voltage board or different.
found some information on this URL http://forums.tbforums.com/showthread.php?t=254712
from the website listed above
"The dwell time for an LS2 coil at 13 volts is 3.15ms, taken directly from an LS2 ecu.
Your dwell battery correction table should look like this (again, values taken directly from an LS2 ecu):
6.0v 193%
8.0v 182%
10.0v 141%
12.0v 113%
14.0v 89%
16.0v 75%"
any help would be great.

that is a good article, I enjoyed it. I will set them up as the settings on the the turbo brick forum. thanks for the advice24c wrote:I think you've confused yourself...read this

It interesting because my ARF didn't really change while I was changing the %. I figured it would have went rich. Maybe it is because the coils are oem for 80 horse per cylinder and my engine is 45 per cylinder
