sync loss 2 missing tooth at wrong time

Post by TTC »

So i have had my ms3 running flawlessly for over a year. No issues untill last track day. Couple sputters, felt like a soft rev limiter. I got off the track and made it home. Today I took it out and it was a disaster. Could barely accelerate.

Its so random. Anyway, log shows that a tooth goes missing for no reason.\

I dont see why all of a sudden now i would have this issue. I dont think its interferance. The signal wire is shielded well, runs by the power and ground lines by the cop but since they are cop i figure it shouldnt cause issues. Especially since its been fine for over a year.

Jiggling the wires does nothing, and its perfectly fine at idle. Its only when we get going.

Might rewire the vr sensor and see if that fixes it. Where should i start.

you can see the missing tooth at the begging of the pic

Have you physically checked the VR-sensor and trigger wheel?

I have seen this on a toyota and BMW setup before, crank trigger wheel and sensor was actually loose on both setups.

Wheels good. Checked sensor and closed gap some. Will report back later. Sometimes it's easier if the d*** things just break altogether lol.
