cam sensor on ms3x

Hello all,

I have a 2 part question.

1 can you run ms3x and its capabilities on just a cam sensor.

And 2 I'm thinking about using a diy auto tune trigger wheel for my cam sensor http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/361- ... 70bff09760 with a 3 wire cam sensor pickup. Does anyone see any problems with this idea?

Everything should work the way you want except for the trigger wheel, it is designed for vr sensors and might not work well if your cam sensor is hall.

Ok, I'll bite - why? A gear-tooth sensor should trip, however briefly, on each tooth of that saw blade. What am I missing?

If you look at the specs of a gear-tooth sensor they list a minimum tooth width and length, that wheel comes to a point. At low rpm it isn't likely to be a issue but at higher rpms there might not be enough mass to trigger the sensor.

Yes it is the .125 wheel, but it is not square cut like the only in the video.

Would I be better off using a vr sensor?

Also does anyone know of a place I can obtain a similar size trigger wheel just square cut?
