fuel load & vac/boost reading while engine off

Post by riosrichie »

I recently had ended up getting a rod knock so I took my engine apart and rebuilt it. besides the rod knock I had no issues with starting or driving, now that the engine is put back together and ready to go I can not get it to start. for some reason while cranking the injectors are flooding the motor. with the ignition on the fuel load gauge is reading 60 & the vac/boost gauge is reading -11. if I take the vacuum line from the map sensor and apply pressure the fuel gauge increases and the vac gauge moves towards 0. if I apply suction the fuel gauge moves towards 0 and the vac gauge moves more in the negative.

It sounds like the MAP sensor is mis-calibrated.
However,

the ms has the standard 2.5 bar sensor, ive tried changing the settings with the ones supplied in tunerstudio the gauges change but the readings are not close to what they should be.

has it always read this amount with the engine off or is it a new thing?

From what I remember its new. What has me concerned is the vacuum is reading -11 while the engine is off. I was able to get it started and holding idle I will post the msq and datalog when I get a chance.

hmm could try re setting the calibration on the map sensor see if that helps should be close to 100 at sea level with engine not running, failing that maybe a bad sensor or a dry soldered joint maybe, are the rest of the sensors reporting sane readings?
