Hi guys,
Again, not sure whether this is in the correct sub-forum so please accept my apologies and move if necessary.
I'm working on a MS3/X build set for fully fuel and spark sequential with COPs, etc etc.
The build is on a Porsche 911 aircooled engine. In addition to the on engine mounted oil cooler, I have a remote Mocal oil cooler fitted with a fan. as the engine temp warms, the "dumb" thermostat opens flowing through the additional cooler. when the temp probe between the fins reachers a specified temp (adjustable with a pot on the relay holder the fan should kick in.
My question is whether you guys would recommend I use the MS3/X to control the fan? If you think so, should I use my engine oil temp sensor in the engine block or should I continue to use the probe I have as my sender unit - similar to this...http://www.summitracing.com/parts/flx-33073/overview/ ? I suppose ideally I would have a means for measuring the return to engine temp from the remote cooler!
Opinions please
Nath
