I just found out today that the logs captured to the SD card have a time gap of roughly 14 seconds each file. I found out about this when I was overlaying the data onto my video and the data was spread onto 2 different files and found out there was a huge 14 seconds gap between each file
Is this normal? Or is there any setting which may improve this. Using a 32gb Sandisk SD card.

Not too sure if the gap is the same between all files or just coincidentally between these 2 files as I just found out about it today.jsmcortina wrote:Between each file?

I did an overlay on a video with data from the SD card converted via TunerStudio and the run was spread out between 2 files, LOG1600 and LOG1601 but when syncing the data to the video, LOG1601 didn't synced properly and after some tweaking here and there I found out that there is a missing data gap of 14 seconds between when LOG1600 and LOG1601 is created.
Here's the end video I created and as you can see, from 5:17 to 5:32 there is a missing data gap.

Re: MS3x datalogging time gap
Yes, it is normal for there to be a gap between logs.
When one log ends, then the MS3 has to create a new file on the SDcard. As the cards gets fuller, that will take longer as the DOS file protocol requires file allocation table to be scanned which can be slow.
If you want a single long log, then set the max log time to longer.

Re: MS3x datalogging time gap
OK, thanks for the advice. If I set the log files longer, will the gap be longer? eg. 30 second gap if set to 20 minute log files....jsmcortina wrote:Yes, it is normal for there to be a gap between logs.
