RPM out?

Post by SirSpectre »

Hello all,

While on the adventure to get AVECs (VVT) and AVCL (variable lift) work on a Subaru H6, we thought of using the stock STI ECU to control the VVT only. Issue is, we need RPM signal to that system. Is there a way to output the same RPM in signal to an output the other ECU can read? What would need to be done?

Thanks!

You may be able to share the tach input signals.

Have you tried using the VVT control from the MS3 ?

We have not. I guess its worth a try before attempting to share the signal. If the signal is shared, wouldn't that make it half as strong, therefore more prone to desync?

Yes interference is a possibility, but the ECU inputs tend to be "high impedance" meaning that they don't apply a large load to the sensor.
