Nissan Cas No RPM

Post by civic_duty »

Hello i am working on a toyota 4age 20valve fitted with a Nissan sr20det cas, its running a ms3v3.0 with expansion card a diyautotune harness. the ecu has ms3-pre1.4beta10 firmware installed(also tried 1.3.4 and 1.4beta7). the board configuration is
TACHSELECT TO VRIN(1k resistor pullup to s12c),
TSEL TO VROUT (Tried VROUTINV didn't make any difference)
Trigger 1 to main board pin 24
Trigger 2 to PT4 on expansion card(1k resistor pullup as well to 12v).
In basic trigger mode i get rpm signal in tunerstudio but in SR20 mode i get no rpm signal i have a copy of a composite log, sensor was spun using a drill

Tried adjusting the pots as per manual but no progress a help i would gladly appreciate it

It looks as if you have the primary and secondary tach wires switched.

I hope not! PT4 is only 5V safe.

As Matt says, you have the primary and secondary tach switched.

Please reverse them and post a fresh composite log.

How are you guys (Matt & James) seeing the swapped inputs in that last .csv file? When I bring it up in MLV it is blank, with all zeros in the data fields (except time).

Edit: all zeros except one field (cumulative time?) that seems "stuck"

okay so i swapped the wires around as was suggested by Matt and James but still wasn't getting any rpm signal, so i decided to check the voltage at the pots as per the manual and they were way off. the one on the expansion card was about 0.5v and the main board was about 0.7v(although they were adjusted before as per the manual) adjusted them with a DVM to 2.5v. Then it started up. just want to say thanks again, also James i have 1k to 12v pullup on the tach signal and 330ohm to 5v TPSREF on the PT4 cam input.

Check to be sure you're on the latest version of MegaLogViewer.

I think you have to be using the registered version of MegaLogViewer to be able to view composite logs.

I have had it registered for quite a while, but hadn't done the latest upgrade yet; can see it fine now.
