Android equipped radio to display MS obd2 CAN data?
Hi, is it possible to wire up an obd2 connector and one of those obd2 bluetooth antenas to display data on a bluetooth/android equipped radio?
I wonder how would the wiring be done? regarding the obd2 connector pins and MS pins
Obd2 universal antenas example (maybe someone can pinpoint the best one out of these)

If this antenna was able to send CAN data, would it maybe work? (using the CAN pins on the MS3)

If you can find an android radio that supports Bluetooth for anything other than phone hands free you are doing better than me.

What James is saying, is for one you may not be able to connect the MS Bluetooth to any of the OBD wireless bluetooth radio's since they both do essentially the same thing... try to talk to a PC or smartphone, and since the OBD dongle radio is actually most likely an ELM327 OBD based adapter with a simple bluetooth radio connected to the RX TX pins... the MS software simply does not talk to the ELM327/OBD adapter... meaning it doesn't send or receive any OBD related info. The MS bluetooth radio and any OBD Bluetooth dongle you find are setup to talk to a PC or smartphone, the MS bluetooth adapter intended really only for the MS software only.. Even if you were able to get the MS Bluetooth adapter connected to the ELM327 based OBD dongle, reading OBD info is an entirely different kind of flying... altogether. While I'm sure it would be fairly easy for James to make this ELM327/OBD functionality work by itself on MS hardware (especially since I have it all mapped out and working on a stand alone Arduino type chip), it would most likely interfere and slow down the functions of the MS as an engine controller if he were to try and merge it into any MS software would not really be beneficial anyway since the MS is intended to be it's own engine controller... not something that reads OBD commands/signals.
Furthermore, there's no LCD on the MS.... so really your better off just using your Android Torque app, with one of these Ebay OBD Bluetooth dongles... done. Or use a PC the same way with an app like Scanmaster...

Re: Android equipped radio to display MS obd2 CAN data?
I discarded the obd or elm dongle from my thoughts and just thought .... Install the bluetooth antena from efianalytics, then instead of using a cell phone where you would normally install their app, use a the android equipped radio... nope?

It's just a android radio that I got off ebay and it runs a combination windows ce and android but the blue tooth only works on the windows side so I use the usb connection for the megasquirt. ..I think if you got a pure android radio the blue tooth may work if that what you after but for me the usb works great and I have shadow dash and msdroid both installed and working

Re: Android equipped radio to display MS obd2 CAN data?
great!!! I guess we could use either usb or rs232 (with a converter) to use the radios usb connector? Looking very good there!
Re: Android equipped radio to display MS obd2 CAN data?
As long as it has usb for the android part of the radio or one of the new pure android radios I have been seeing
