sr20det , ms3x PT4, not crank pulse.

Post by maik21 »

hi. good night.

im trying to figure out this issue.

engine is an sr20det with oem sr20det cas disk.

high frecuency pulses are connected to db37 ms3x pin 31, aka PT4. do i need to configure PT4 as input? i search option but there isnt. Manual say PT4 works as input or output.

pullups uses 1k ohm from 5v to db37 motherboard pin 24 and from 5v to db37 ms3x pin 31.

vr pots were set on motherboard and signal can be seen using basic trigger as tacho input. i test high resolution output and low resolution output in scope and they are working right. with basic trigger, i can see pulses and with switchet distribuitor output i can see low or high resolution pulses.

is this code needs high rpms to work in cranking ?

this will be funny but i was rotating distribuitor by hand :D but no lost sync and no rpm signal on tunerstudio. i cant log tooth either.

tomorrow i will find something to rotate distributor at high speed.

recomendations? thankyou very much.

guide on diyautotune for example for rb25 say ignition input capture as rising edge but msextra guide say its falling edge.

i use guide in diyautotune for wiring tacho input using tachselect to vrin and TSEL to vroutinv. i dont find this information in msextra guide. im a little confused with new guide.

PT4 is automatically selected as the secondary input when SR20DET mode is selected if you set it to the regular cam input.

Can you post a composite log of an attempted start?

Looks like the engine is barely turning over - check if there's a problem with the battery or starter.

That was going off the composite log - it may be turning at 160 RPM at its peak, but it seems to be slowing to nearly a dead stop at some points.

rotating distributor with die grinder. no cranking signal and no rpm signal in dashboard. no sync lost count .

here is composite log again.

maybe you can helpme because im little confuse about ignition input assembly. in diyautotune recommends using vroutINV to TSEL. i cant find this into pdf guide.

thankyou very much for your help.

I'm not sure about but what i see from far far away

Three slits in the lowres trigger are the same (about 2 slits) one is bigger. Check the picture before (so something like 8 2 2 2)

The Code is written for this Triggerdisc (see photo)
The disc that works has lowres triggers in different sizes wich are 4 slits 8 slits 12 slits and 16 slits so (you see the difference) ( 4 8 12 16)
So my one works fully sequential..................

(probably you have to request a Triggerwheel implementation)

But it shoud still work in "basic trigger" mode

As stated, yes this will work as "Basic Trigger" and a single coil.

Thanks also for clearing up the applications of these two discs.
