Need a tune for a 3800SC ?

Post by B85 »

Trying to workup a tune for a 1999 3800SC GTP. This is for a simulation ( I'm learning ). Don't know what I'm doing wrong ? If some one has a tune I could look at would help. What I have will only go to 435 rpm then if you ask for more rpm it just turns the Led's (on the JSx) off and rpm on the TS goes to 0.

Thanks,Randy

I have a tune, but need to know your setup. I'm using C3I and have MS3x INJs in batch fire. How do you have your wired?

Thanks for the reply !

Nothing is wired yet. Working with a MS3x and JS and JSx. Doing testing right now. Just looking for a place to start.

Was thinking of symmetrical-symmetrical ? But that would take new coils. This motor has the C3I but not sure about the wiring ?

Any input will help. I'm new to the MS3x. Your MSQ will help me get a working idea.

Thanks,Randy

Here is the msq. (i'm not responsible if your engine goes caboom)
Notes to consider,

Using DIY wiring Harness
MS3/MS3X v3.0 board, 1.3.4 code, TS v2.6.14 (hardware mods to support C3I)
I have MS3x fuel in Batch fire, Stock injectors
Wired for C3I ignition, C3I runs Tach in dash
No rev limiter is set
Wideband O2 setup
Fan Control on and using default control
Timing and VE set for my engine, will need soften and then dialed in for your setup
Using Built in MAP
Running Speed Density

I'm sure there are other things to check and set for your application.

Nope, I started with MS1 and used a base tune to get it running. Low advance and richer VE, Gas fouled the plugs 3 times.... :) .
I used information from the manual that WopOnTour (IIRC) made for the hardware mods. Had the same v3.0 board with MS2 and MS3.
I also used a timing light to verify the trigger angle. Then I began tuning from there. I had help along the way as I needed it, from a couple MS'ers on here.
