MS3X breaks is back! (solved)
Hi
I posted before about the sync loss 2 at the load and then engine died at each break.
After that I chaned everything, vr sensors, new harness, new injectors, new vag coils, new batteri, new generator, everything.
I was working fine just for one day.
Now the breaks is back.
At full throttle 2th or 3th gear above 1 bar and 6500 rpm the engine just dies.
And it is no sync loss, nothing! Just break and MS3x restart. I tryed to install 2200 capasitor at 12v to ms3x but is makes no different.
You can see on this logg that first load it looks like I just dropped the throttle but IRL the ingine just died but the ms3x stil goiging.
In the middle ofthe log you can see one break that ms3x restarts and the ingine wakes up again in the middle of the load.
Sorry the file was to big to upload
It feels like the MS3x get some voltage peaks but why??? I changed everything allready

It's really hard to tell anything without a log to look at. Can you compress the log with Winzip or something like that and upload it?
Also if you know how you can use a text editor to shorten the log, but that's a bit harder.

Here it comes.
First log shows a few loads that resets is invisible and the last load the reset in the middle at the load and engine wakes up again.
Second log show some invisible loads and the last load the visible reset and the engine dies.
Today I tryed to drive without generatorm , only with a battery, log shows stabil 11.5 v all the time and it stil breaks with a invisible resets.
And I tryed different batterys. So now I know it is no generator or battery that makes those resets

Could it be that your MS3 is drawing too much current and the Poly-fuse kicks in? Have you measured the current?
If the circumstances are reproducible, maybe something turns on or off at those precise circumstances that causes a change in voltage. Could be fans, AC, spark-cut.....
(I'm at work, so I can't take a look at your logs). A copy of your tune would also help.

update!
I changed sparkplug gap from 0.6 to 0.4mm and dwell from 2.5 to 2.0

Sync loss comes at the same time like resets before above 6000 rpm and above 1.3 bar.
So it is 10 times better now but not good enough.
Something comes from the ignition.
I run 6cyl cop 115 vag coils

whats the input resistance of the coils?
1990 bmw 320i daily driver with m20b25 ms3 sequential fuel, 380cc injectors, d585 coil near plug, home made cam sync, launch control, fan control, vss, homebrew egt logging what's next????

it about 380 ohm between pin 2 and 3.
I am sure mow that the problem comes from the ignition, maybe I should try to separate coil grounds pin 2 and 4 and place them on different places

outputs cannot drive these coils directly - see the MS3base/V3.0 manual for example circuits or use an external

sorry forgot to mention i have external buffer driver for thise coils.
The car was running perfect for 3 years before I got this issue

Today I separated power ground pin4 and signal ground pin2 and sync loss is gone.
Now I v learned how impotent it is to have separate grounds for VAG 115 coils
