how can I check a crank trigger signal ?
I have just finished installing my crank trigger wheel and sensor. I tested the sensor while moving the wheel around and seem to get a high and low voltage. Is there some way I can check the correctness of the signal in the ecu while I still run a computer controlled HEI ?

That's what I originally did before I removed my distributer, I even hooked up a coil and laid a spark plug on the block to get my tooth #1 angle correct before starting the engine with the MS.
MS3+X on 73 Karmann Ghia ignition only with LS2 truck coils firing in sequential, fuel next.
2333(103*70) Type 4 with DTM also sitting in living room just need exhaust.

Where did you connect the signal from the sensor to ? Normally it goes to the tach input, but that's already taken by the distributor.

My distributer was still running points.

So that's not going to work for me apparently ?

Switch on, and start a TS log. Then crank the engine. The log should show the RPM signal jump from zero to cranking speed.Yves wrote:I have just finished installing my crank trigger wheel and sensor.
