Re: Tooth Logger issues
Post the exact make an P/N of the sensor, maybe somebody can verify it is VR. I don't mean to be an ass about this, but 1/2 ohm for a VR coil is extremely low.

Re: Tooth Logger issues
In EDIS mode you'll NEVER see the missing tooth on the logger because the module handles it.
Is the EDIS system working standalone? Make sure it is first.

Re: Tooth Logger issues
Billr: No worries, I appreciate someone double checking - it is a Motorcraft DY1008 sensor, it can be found on Amazon.
James: Thank you for that info! I've read that the EDIS module takes care of the signal and all, but I did not realize I wouldn't be able to see it in the logger. I can finally stop chasing ghosts. Before I started this thread, I previously tested the module in "limp home" mode and did receive 10 degrees timing. After that I then tested the timing on the spark wires. After all that I tried to fire it up and got a nasty kick-back. That is when I decided to check the loggers and create this thread but now learn it's all useless.
So I'm at a point I still would like to check things out on the logger before my next attempt to restart. In order to confirm my sensor and ring are set up with no sync loss and no issues, I can just disconnect EDIS and hook the sensor up to the MS, change the ignition in Tuner Studio to toothed 36-1 wheel correct? Should I still be able to use composite logger with EDIS?
Thanks again.

Re: Tooth Logger issues
I wouldn't do that at all, it's just complicating things.
Connect the sensor and coil to the EDIS module and let it run on its own. Disconnect the Megasquirt from the EDIS module (just unplug the Megasquirt.)
When you crank the engine you should get solid repeatable timing at 10BTDC.
If that's ok and you get stable RPM shown with the Megasquirt connected then you should be good to go.

Re: Tooth Logger issues
Thank you sirs. Double checked ACB wiring on the coil, confirmed 10 degrees in limp mode, plugged MS back in, hit the starter and off the engine went. One thing down, more to go.
Thank you James, one step closer to being back on the road!
