F.A.S.T. dual sync distributor setup

Post by savagerocco »

I'm building a ms3pro system and I have a F,A,S,T. dual synch distributor for it. It has a hall sensor for cam and crank. 8 tooth for crank and 1 for cam. The thing I wonder about is which way would be best to set up. The hall sensor can be positioned at 0 trigger angle or moved to 50deg btdc. Would I be better to use basic trigger or a dual toothed wheel cam speed with 8 teeth and 1 cam tooth. I plan on sequential fuel on this car and I am sure either way would work, just wondering the pros or cons of each setup.

OK, found the dual synch info in the base ms3 manual, defiantly need to be the toothed wheel for sequential, and I believe I need to move the sensor to the 50 deg setting on the ditributor and make sure the rotor phasing is correct.

Have you got the sequential working, any difference from Bank2Bank? I was thinking of trying sequential, thought of modding the Pontiac timing cover for cam sensor to pickup off cam gear, a raised tab or magnet. Or maybe invest in the F.A.S.T. dual sync.

I have gotten this gto running. The distributor setup worked great. I never ran it as bank fire to compare, but the owner has been very happy with the car.

sorry to bring up this aold thread, but Im also about to use a FAST dual sync distributor for my Chevy Big block to setup sequential propane vapor injection.

I'd love to have your final MSQ file and would like to know how your rpm signal is? maybe a loge file?
