2008 CBR600RR CONFIGuRATION ERROR

Post by ilkerozturk58 »

Dear Users,

I am using Ms3 pro series ecu , My problem is about Ignition settings, I use stock cam/crank Wheel and RC 51 ignition system, but I try the even fire settings, MS3 gives me configration error, it only accepts Odd fire input but my engine is even fire, How can I fix this problem? What do you recommend to me ? I am using 1.2.0 firmware, I am waiting your answer, If you say me different ignition option, I will try that.

Best Regards

Thank You

Even fire 4-cylinder RC51 is not presently supported.

However, one customer is presently trying out some test code that does add support for it. We are hoping to get feedback in the next few days.

Try setting it to Odd-fire with a 180° angle.

The RC51 modes have the odd-ness built in.

Firstly, Thanks a lot for all answer.

If I making Wasted spark connection and giving 180 degree odd fire angle, Engine can work with sequential mode ? Actually, I wait getting timing error.

Thank You

Out of curiosity, did this ever go through? I'm about to run a CBR600 with the MS2extra and I was wondering if I can run the stock trigger wheels. Or if I would have to modify them doing a 12-1 crank with a single cam tooth.

Hi

We're using a microsquirt on the same engine.

Just updated the firmware to the 3.4.1. Now we have the RPM readings :yeah!: , and everythings seens ok, but.... :?

The ignition timing is 90º out (checked with a timing light)... and the timing offset correction only allows 20º adjust... so we can't
get the ignition to the correct timing. :|

Maybe it is only the tooth triggers on the firmware... I use to work with the MS1 code, but just can't
get he cygwin to built the MS2 code...

Hey Fritz, you are not alone. :D I'm in the same position as you. Got the RPM reading, 90º off (i believe advanced, don't remember), tried the timing offset, and am also having trouble getting cygwin working.

I made a drawing of both crank and cam trigger wheels and found when TDC happens in relation to the cam wheel. So I am working on getting cygwin working.

This was the problem.

Please let us know if it is 90deg advanced or retarded. Making that change is fairly straightforward to achieve and I can send you two some test code.

Sorry it took so long. The angle was actually along the lines of 130° retarded. I was able to get cygwin working and changed the trig_angs from -375 to -1650. Not sure if this was the correct way to change the code however. The timing mark isn't exactly on but it's basically there.

Tomorrow I will check to make sure all the other cylinders fire at the correct time and in correct order.

Thanks for the help James!
