looking at it there is no compensation for manifold pressure.

Is that necessary ? It uses a pressure sensor. So when using a vac referenced pressure regulator it should take vac in consideration

i thought the idea of it was so you did not use a pressure regulator.

For some maybe. For me the main goal is to have my FP not run at full load all the time. I use an A1000 so it makes a fair amount of noise at idle.

Even then, I do not think that it would be that hard to fill in the tables based on the map values and rpm.

but if you use a vac ref pressure reg that will make the pressure say 3 bar over the manifold pressure but the fuel pump controller will see the pressure is less than the pre set pressure and will run the pump trying to boost the pressure up

Not sure but i see in ts an option to indicate a vac ref fuel press regulator and the table is map vs rpm with pw as a result. Seems that based on some experimentation one can get the pwm correct to produce the correct press but i have no experience

He also makes a unit for a Ford fuel pressure sensor that is vacuum referenced.
I think that they are used on a lot of late model Fords.
Just do a search on here for Ford FPS and you should get some answers.
If you read the instructions on the controller there are two buttons that control the fuel pressure up and down, so you don't need a pressure regulator.

Well, I would like to retain the return to the tank for the reasons that
1. I have an aeromotive external pump, that heats up quite a bit.
2. The engine seems to heat up the fuel quite a bit as well.

That controller is for a returnless setup. If you just want to reduce fuel output, use the PWM control in MS3. You can use an FPDM, an SSR or discrete components to control the current to the pump.

If you wait for a week or two then ill have my returnless going with a ssr.
See my blog http://www.jamesobartlett.com
I'll post back here when it's going.

Edit: Back from work now, I also wanted to say that I'll write up a how-to on my blog.

Did you get the fuel pump working with pwm ?

Sorry not yet, I'm getting closer to it but time is my enemy. I have to do a few things before I can get to this stage... see my blog I have a list there.

I used to use this controller when I was running MS2. Worked great, but the cpu is a bit susceptible to freeze due to noise. I had to install a very large capacitor and inductor filter to smooth out the noise, cured the cpu resets.

It's a bit confusing I'm actually going to use a solid state relay and the pump controller software in Tunerstudio to control it via PWM with feedback from a pressure sensor. See my Blog below.

That is similar to how I do my fuel system. I am using a ford fpdm. Although I know the module is 2 way, I haven't figured out it's signal back to the ECU, and it works just fine running it one way.
