I am setting up a MS3X on my Drag car. The motor currently has a MSD VR sensor from the flying magnet crank trigger. The ATI balancer has the four magnets embedded in its outer ring. I want to order a new outer shell from ATI with a 36-1 toothed wheel incorporated in it.
The old shell had the magnets at 80,170,260,350 degrees.
What I am not sure of is where to get ATI to put the missing tooth.

The missing tooth is positioned at 0. The sensor is positioned at 8 teeth or 80deg.

Re: Crank Trigger to 36-1
It's all in the manual... MS can work with any location of the missing-tooth, you just have to program the appropriate "#1 Tooth Offset" in TS. However for a typical twisted-crank 90 deg V-8 you want to have that missing tooth about 40-60 degrees BTDC, where the crank accel/decel from compression (and firing?) is lessened. If you are also going to use a cam sensor, then there is a restriction, I believe the cam pulse can't be at the same time as the crank missing-tooth.

The sensor is on the passanger side of the motor. About 40 - 70 degrees from TDC

Not a clue. Only ATI knows.
