Need help setting up 2nd MAP sensor

Post by 74bluefish »

Need help setting up 2nd MAP sensor. I have MS3 and the expansion board.
I have the gauges on the dashboard showing Baro and engine MAP
When I put vacuum to the on board sensor both gauges move at the same time, I thought only the current Baro should move.
When I put vacuum to the ext 2nd MAP the gauge doesn't move.
I can't figure what I'm setting up wrong.
I have not started my motor yet, this is a new install. Here is a screen shot of my settings.

Please attach the actual tune file (MSQ) and a datalog. See "Forum help page" if you need guidance on doing that.

Ok, I've attached the tune. But I don't have a datalog. I've never stated the motor.

You don't need to data log the motor running - data log your sensor testing.

Ok, I'm posting a data log. Hope I did it right. I moved the throttle a few times just to make sure something showed up. between moving the throttle i put vacuum to the on board sensor and both gauges(ext map and current baro) show movement at the same time then vacuum to the external Map and the gauges don't move.

You are using an old firmware version.

I loaded your tune into the current firmware and it highlighted the problem.

You've configured your baro sensor and primary MAP sensor to both use the on-board MAP sensor - that won't work.

You have then configured a second MAP sensor to use the external MAP sensor, that's not what you want.

Leave Baro set to "Mainboard"
Set MAP sensor voltage input port to "EXT_MAP (ADC11)"
Set 2nd MAP port to "Off"

Also consider upgrading to the current firmware - available from the Downloads page.

Thanks, James and Matt

Updated the firmware and put the settings. That fixed it.
At first there was still conflict with MAF but I fixed that myself :yeah!:

I will post another file next week and of it looks good I will try to start the engine for the first time.

Thanks once again.
I am learning slowly, but learning.
