Help with Boost by MPH

Post by nathaninwa »

There are some 1/8th mile drags getting started close to my house and I want to use boost by mph to keep a steady onset of boost as I can feel the power fall off in each gear now using sticky tires But trying it today It seems there is no blend it gos straight to the 300 target

Ive attached 2 logs and 2 tunes, one with just using vss2 and the other turning a blend table on not knowing if needed it or not as a function Both logs do the same thing

Any idea on a tune change to get this working?

I think you have the curve "upside down" - click on the tab at the top right to display the numbers. They should go from lowest speed to fastest; you've got them the other way.

I'll check that out tonight. I remember the graph ramping up from 30 to 90 with increasing boost as speed went up. I'll try reversing it and report back

I see it now. The graph will look the same but the drop down will read lowest at the top then highest down below

I'll get this tested. This should help out this weekend

To parallel this thread http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic ... 31&t=59039

I have tune and data showing boost by mph is off by a factor of 10x. When targeting 10mph, 20mph, 30mph and on for testing, I started kpa at 180, 190, 200 and so on. The whole log is 180 target

When leaving boost kpa alone but putting 1mph, 2mph, 3mph, 4mph I get appropoiate changes at 10, 20, 30, 40 and so on.

Investigating.
EDIT: That looks to be a VERY VERY old bug, but should be an easy fix. Clearly nobody is using boost vs. speed, or if they are they aren't reporting bugs.

Thanks James. Little more testing last night and I like boost by mph. I've always felt the car could handle more power out the top of second and third. I'll be racing again today a couple passes and will try to get this dialed in

In version 1.3.4 boost vs speed works fine. Using VSS1 or VSS2.

Interesting. James has it fixed now in 1.4.beta1 and the other guy was running 1.3.3.
