whats the best way to go about calibrating knock sensors? i have the ones made for my engine installed, but I'm not sure where to set the "where/when to look windows" so the system works properly.
anyone have some tips?

Re: so i have mounted knock sensors
Bumping this, I'd love to see some generic advice on knock setup in 1.4. My logs show lots of knock signal, but I added a sensor to an engine that did not have one so have no baseline to set filters or whatever.
Running an non intercooled turbo, so I'd love to have Knock pull timing if I get some.

Re: so i have mounted knock sensors
Interested in hearing solutions as well. I have 2 bosch knock sensors. They show knock at places, but the signal seems to follow rpm, so I'm thinking other noise is causing it.
Knock frequency was set based on bore size and the required formula.
I have been thinking about using a high octane fuel to establish a baseline, but if it goes to a 100% in places, essentially it's useless.

Me too.
Building a Rover 4.6 V8 that did have knock sensors. Engine will have about 9.2:1 compression but may have to run 91 octane from time to time so knocking may be an issue in some circumstances.
Looking at putting MS3X on with input from knock sensors would be ideal.
