Cranking taper curve question
Hi,
Was playing around with the cranking taper curve today.
I was wondering what is meant with "events" in the curve. Is this engine cycles, or ignition pulses? Tooltips are not exactly clear on this.

Re: Cranking taper curve question
I'm pretty sure it is ignition pulses, all of them, every cylinder adds to the count.
Re: Cranking taper curve question
I would say so, but it is very unclear. The manual is also not clear on this.

Re: Cranking taper curve question
"Events" always refers to ignition events.

Re: Cranking taper curve question
And the term "ignition event" means one ignition spark, or an ignition cycle (=8 pulses for a v8 for instance)?

Re: Cranking taper curve question
Strange thing is though that when I set the "ASE count units" to "cycles", in reality this is "ignition events"
And when I set the "cranking fuel rate" to "every event" , the tooltip says this means every "tach event"
It is kind of confusing.
