wasted COP question

Post by hobieboy »

I have a question of testing with wasted COP -
I have wired the ignition in sequential COP configurations (i.e. using Spk A-F each driving a COP coil for a cylinder), and MS3/MS3X is configured as COP right now.
If I change it to wasted COP, will MS3 simply fires each coil once every crank cycle (as opposed to every other) but still firing them from A-F sequentially?

For background, still chasing a ignition miss/break up problem when I get on boost (only at ~10psi) & RPM >4000. I can't get rid of this problem since upgrading from MS1-extra to MS3/MS3X (during which time I also changed from wasted spark to COP, and batch fueling to full sequential via addition of a hall CAM sensor).

thanks!

if you change to wasted cop it will fire them in pairs just like wasted spark so, a+d, b+e, c+f will be fired together each coil will fire twice per cycle.

Have you gone back to non sequential-take the cam sensor out- to see if it still breaks up at 4K?
Watching this thread for my 4k missing out issue too.

Thanks for the explanation... so I can test without re-wiring the coils/plugs which is great :)

Steve, which thread describes your 4k missing issue?
