2jzvvti 1,3,5 fires and 2,4,6 nothing

Post by 3tc power »

basically 1,3,5 are firing and 2,4,6 isn't. i have a 2jz vvti, lq9 Coils, 440 side feeds. basically it starts on a dime but there is only 3 cylinders firing like i mentioned before. composite log is perfect and coil, injectors works on test mode.

if there is anything else you need me to post please let me know.

Also check the spark outputs in test mode to be sure all six of those fire.

I tested all injectors and coils A,B,C,D,E F individually and they all fired in the order i commanded. As far as a data log, i won't be able to work on the car until Saturday morning. But as i get to the car i will post a log for you guys

I gotta ask, do you have the coils (and injectors) connected according to your firing order:

A => 1
B => 5
C => 3
etc...

The datalog shows that all six spark and fuel outputs are being operated, so I can't explain what you are seeing.

Perhaps try setting to semi-sequential fuel and wasted-COP ignition to see if that makes any difference.

So here is the skinny on what i did today.
●(Sequential OFF, wasted COP) motor ran way better.
●(Fully sequential, COP )motor backfire loud on start up and ran like s*** when it started..popping and only 3 cylinders seems like.
●(Semi sequential, COP) ran like s***
●(Wasted COP, semi sequential ) the motor seemed to like this mode the best. Now while in this mode i did a injector test with car running and all injectors were fine, but 1,2,3 coils worked fine but 3,4,5 did change how the motor ran when i shut them off.
Telling from what is going on here it seems to be ignition problems because when i choose COP thats when it acts like a hoe lmao. I did test mode again with motor off with the coils and they all worked fine and i also went over wiring and all seems fine.. Right now any pointers on the probkem im having would be greatly appreciate.

Was that a typo, did you mean 3.4.5 did not change how it ran? I'm not trying to be picky, but it would make a big difference in the symptoms you are reporting. Have you verified spark timing, with a simple light, on every cylinder? That means adding a couple of more temporary TDC marks, but well worth the effort considering how you are being plagued here.

Try this setting:

Spark mode: toothed wheel
Number of coils: Wasted COP
Trigger wheel alignment: Single wheel with missing tooth.
Trigger wheel teeth: 36
Missing teeth: 2
tooth #1 angle: 90

See if this helps.

OK I FOUND IT!
and like i said before it was something really stupid lol. i wired the coils and injectors ABCDEF instead of AECFBD. anyways thanks again for all the info and time you guys spent trying to help me figure this out.
