Post by swifty35 »

Can anyone confirm what pins k1 and k2 are wired to on the db15 pad in my ms3x ? Just would like to confirm if what pins I have is correct. Thanks

The topmost pad is 20, then 17 down to 6. Your wires are in 16 and 14.

In the ms3x manual it shows me the pads arranged in this order in image below. Wouldn't it be pad 7 and pad 9? Based on image from manual or am I looking at it incorrect?

It -is- a little confusing, and does somewhat contradict the screening on the actual board. If you look at the photo, though, you'll note that the silkscreen at the bottom is "06" and a little arrow pointing UP, with "06..17" underneath it. That says to me that the bottom pad is 06, and the top of that (06-17) stack is 17. The 20 pad is labelled separately, at the very top of the stack. If the schematic were to be revised, I would suggest moving the whole diagram up on box, and scooting the 20 pad down to the bottom.

When in doubt - and especially when it's as easy as just two pads/pins! - get out the multimeter and check for continuity. *KNOW* what your arrangement is!

O ok yip the multimeter was my next step. So if I look at it your way which pins on the connect side are the knock sensor to be wired to pin 6 and 7 on the connector?

Back to the schematic - pads 16 and 14 connect to pins 10 and 11, respectively.

hi i managed to check the wires with the multimeter and you were correct the pin out i used before were incorrect thanks again. what is the best way to fine tune the internal knock module to the engine after putting in the knock sensor frequency? and is 50% considered knock or 100%?
