MS3/X Staged Injection - High and Low Z Injectors

Post by cammmy »

Hi All

I have a bit of a conundrum.

My car has 4x low Z primary injectors and 2x High Z secondary's from the factory. When I bought my MS3/X v3.0 I asked for a set of uprated, all High Z injectors from an EFI supplier and purchased their recommendation to make the install simpler. Unfortunately the recommended injectors were a completely different size to my stockers and wouldn't fit in the car. I returned them to the US (I'm in the UK) and was sent replacements again based on their recommendation. Unfortunately they seem to have forgotten that I wanted all high Z and so have been sent 4x low Z primaries and 2x high z secondary's.

I really don't fancy having to pay to send these back again (and deal with customs again as they charged me VAT on the replacements last time). Is there a way to make these work?

Based on having all high Z, I have wired them as:

Inj 1-4 - MS3/X Inj A
Inj 2-3 - MS3/X Inj C

Primaries as batch fire alternating

Inj 5-6 - MS3 Inj A

Secondaries as simultaneous

Is it possible to have the primaries wired to the MS3 Inj 1&2 and the secondary's wired to MS3/X Inj A?

Thanks

I don't understand your proposed wiring, why aren't you using inj B output and why are your secondaries connected to inj A ?

Personally I'd use injector series resistors and connect the primaries to MS3X inj A, B, C, D outputs so you can run them sequentially. Then connect the secondaries to mainboard inj 1, inj 2 outputs.

Hi James

Thanks for that.

Sorry, I should have explained better. I've left it like that as that's how it's done from the factory. There are two pins for the primary injectors and one pin for the secondary's, each firing two injectors. The primaries are batch fired in alternating pairs and the two secondary's in the plenum are fired together under high RPM/boost.

I'm trying to avoid re-wiring where possible at the moment.
