Is closed loop fuel pump control working ?

Post by Yves »

I seem to have no succes, no matter what I do.

In this thread, Bill mentions he ran into this very same problem :

Attached is my msq. Currently it's in open loop. I've tried closed loop but it keeps running the pump at full power no matter what pressure. In open loop I can adjust the pump speed just fine.

My basic problem was the opposite, pump drive PW never came up enough (in CL) to get pressure to desired. Is your Sensor02 calibration correct for kPa? I'm guessing it is, since 5V = "896"; just wanted to be sure...

Okay, as the pressure goes up the pump speed goes to max, correct? What happens if you remove pressure from the pressure transducer, leaving it electrically active to give a "low pressure" signal to MS; does the pump stay at full speed, or go down to minimum (speed)? I'm wondering if you have the feed-back loop "inverted"?

Pump speed doesn't just go up, it immediatly goes to max.

I haven't tried that, but seems that the loop just doesn't start at all.
