Strange Dead Time Calculation

Post by W126 »

Hello,

I have set dead time to 0.15 ms and the voltage curve to 100% for all values.
DeadTime1.jpg
Fuel calculation summary says dead time 1 ms, expected 0.15ms.
DeadTime2.jpg
TunerStudio displays pulse width 4.096 ms, measured pulse width is 3.1 ms.
Seems like MS subtracts the (wrong) dead time instead of adding it.

FW 1.4.1

why did you set the table and dead times to those values?
are they measured values?
did you burn the changes to the ecu? several changes wont show until you have burned them to the ecu and some changes require the ecu to be power cycled for them to go into effect.

I tried again and found the following:

If dead time is less than 1ms, MS always calculates 1ms.
If dead time is greater than 1ms, calculation works as expected.

Yes, I have burned the changes. power cycle is not required.

Honestly I am suspicious of that gauge. Look into it's configuration and limits because it looks to be set up with settings for a PW gauge. 24mS scale for deadtime makes no sense.
Find the Manuals up top under Quick links: Manuals. :RTFM:

which gauge do you mean ?
The dead time gauge is in the fuel calculation summary,
there is no configuration for that.

The displayed "deadtime1" is using the "bank 1" figure.

Presently : modify the source code, recompile and load it up.
