Can't get a Barometer gauge to work

Can't get a Barometer gauge to work
Running TS Ultra Beta, I can't get a Baro Gauge to work. I am using a GM map sensor on Ext map for the engine, and the mainboard sensor for baro. I can get both sensors to give me baro readings when set as a map for the engine, but when I assign a gauge to Baro it just sits at 80KPA when real KPA here is 98.X. I can get both sensors to agree on actual baro with the engine off but not when I assign a baro gauge. Thanks for any help.

The only thing that jumped out from your tune is that under "Calibrate MAP/Baro" you have your Baro sensor configured as an MPX4115 sensor - shouldn't that be "GM 1 bar" ? That would throw the reading off significantly.

He is using the MPX4115 (on board) sensor as his baro, and the GM 1 bar as the engine MAP (under the hood), and they are correctly assigned in the General Settings.jsmcortina wrote:The only thing that jumped out from your tune is that under "Calibrate MAP/Baro" you have your Baro sensor configured as an MPX4115 sensor - shouldn't that be "GM 1 bar" ? Try this to see if it's a gauge problem, with the key ON, open the "Barometric Correction" table/chart and see if it's reading 80kPa there too.

Re: Can't get a Barometer gauge to work
Sticking at 80kPa can happen if the MS3 is reading an "impossible" baro value. Try temporarily setting the allowed min/max baro values very wide to see if the sensor is reporting a value that was outside that range.

Re: Can't get a Barometer gauge to work
Thanks guys, I will try that change for the ranges and see how it works.
Re: Can't get a Barometer gauge to work
Looks like I might have an issue with the main board MAP. I messed with it some tonight and if I assign the mainboard map as engine map I get a reading in the low 40s for KPA. TS will not let you assign the barometer a reading below 60KPA so even when I change the range it will not read. I think I was doing something wrong last night when I was changing sensor assignments to try and get a baro reading.
Oddly enough if I assign my GM map as the baro sensor I get a reading of 105 KPA, if I assign it as engine map I get a reading of 97.7 kpa.
I will worry about this after drag week haha

Re: Can't get a Barometer gauge to work
Last I looked, the main board MAP sensor is a 4250. If you use the calibration for a 4115, then a real-world baro value of 98kPa will result in a reading of around 45kPa. This is lower than the 80kPa limit, so the firmware decides something has gone very wrong, and uses the limit value.
Temporarily shut down - back soon!

Re: Can't get a Barometer gauge to work
Thank you for the help, switching to the proper calibration fixed the issue. It reads .2 away from the other map sensor now. Thanks again.
