EDIS Wheel indexing

Post by frontrangeFJ40 »

I'm confused because megamanual indicates the EDIS wheel missing tooth should be indexed on the 6th tooth in advance of the missing tooth (for EDIS-6) and this is @ #1 TDC, but Tunerstudio indicates the timing pickup needs to be 10 degrees advanced of #1 TDC. Which is it?

Follow the wheel phasing in the MS3 Hardware Manual.

If you set the trigger/wheel relationship as the manual says, EDIS defaults to sparking at 10 degrees BTDC with SAW disconnected, or no commands from MS. It's a limp home mode. Easy way to check your trigger wheel is positioned correctly - use a timing light with SAW disconnected. It should show 10 degrees BTDC, even with MS not present - just cranking the engine.

So what value do you enter into TunerStudio's trigger wizard for "Ignition Offset angle(deg)" window - 0 or 10?
