no communication

i installed a ms3 pro. i am using the usb cable that came with the unit but no communication-i can plug a flashdrive into my com port into my com port and it works, what i don't understand is i can't find a com port option when i load a new project in tuners stdio the box only gives rs232 as hook up option, help!!!!

when you connect the ecu and power it on can you find the com port in the device manager?

it show as com port three, if i unplug it the com port three disappears

if its com port 3, try setting tuner studio to that

i also found that tuner studio shows no past projects. i have uninstalled and reinstalled but no luck is there any files or programs that can block this download??

Was the MS3-Pro powered up during that test? Just checking. The MS3-Pro uses an isolated USB circuit that is powered off the laptop, so the port will show up whether the MS3-Pro is on or off - but the MS3-Pro will only respond when powered up. (Note - this circuit is unique to the MS3-Pro. It is not in any other MS3 variant that I am aware of - any other one will only show the port if the power is on.)

If this wasn't a case of the MS3-Pro being powered down, try downloading and running the latest driver from this link:

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM21218_Setup.zip

See if that makes a difference.
