inj duty cycle

Post by Busa3268 »

Hey i have never really logged or looked at My Inj duty cycle. I have ID2000 injectors in the bike now but was originally ID1000 never changed in ecu just adjusted fuel map. could this be causing a false reading on duty cycle in log?/ i have logged from 95-121%

The duty cycle is the calculated pulse width divided by the time it takes to open the injectors. In practice, a duty cycle of 90% or so generally means the injectors are locked open, and anything over 100% isn't happening, but duty cycles below that are for real.

According to https://www.injectorrx.com/injector-siz ... horspower/

You should end up at about 94% DC on meth with with with those ID2000s making 358 HP. You will never support XXX HP at huge boost levels.

Remember that all of those injector calculators are assuming the pressure in the rail is about 42 PSI above the pressure in the intake.

At 15 PSI boost in the intake you are right at 30 PSI absolute in the intake. Add 42 PSI to that and you need 72 PSI absolute in the fuel rail. Subtract 15 psi to get back to gauge pressure in the rail and you get 57 PSI Gauge pressure in the rail to support 15 PSI gauge boost in the intake.

PS: there is a rule in EFI tuning 101.... Log everything, no matter what. Logging is not an option, it is keys to the kingdom.
