MS3X ecu problem sync loss 02 with boost

Post by PUMPISH »

Hi

I have a problem with a MS3X ecu .

Setup is:
inline 6 mercedes.
Vag 115 COP

The engine get sync loss 2 with missfire as soon boost comes.
Without boost it revs very nice and clean up to 7200 rev limit.

I have 3 more cars with exactly the same setup and it works just fine.
I know the problem is in the ECU because if I switch ECU from the other 3 cars then the engine runs great.

What parts in the ecu can be damaged to make this kind of issue?
Allready tryed to flash the processor and reload the code without any proggress.

Nowi ordered new MS3X but stil want know why its happens.

Here comes some logs.

thanks!

What sort of sensor are you using, and can you use a tooth log to capture the loss of sync instead of a composite log? Also please post an MSQ.

I use stock mercedes VR sensor and triggerwheel 60-2.
I was using this setup for many years.
I have 3 other nearly identical cars in the garage with the same MS3X ECUs.
I have tested the those 3 ECs and they work perfectly. I just just reload the MSQ and it works fine.
If I plug in this ECU in the other car, issue follows with a ECU.

I allready ordered new MS#3

I will makev tooth log tomorow and send the MSQ when I am back in the garage

thanks

have you followed the step by step to tune your pots? if the answer is yes then put a 10k resistor inline with +ckp.
Megasquirted engines: 4g63, k24a2, b16-b18, duratec, ecotec, fiat 8v-16v, modular 4.6 32v, 1fz-fe, fiat 5cil 20v, Opel corsa, G54B, VW AG, 2ZZ-GE.

yes we have all ECUs intern pot resistor on thesignal line and an adjust signal from 0k to 100k
On mercedes stock trigger it works best with 40k.

All adjustments are the same like e3 other ECUs .
So something is inside the ECU that s not right.
Without boost no problem to rev up to 8000rpm but with boost it get sync loss allready below 5000rpm.

I have a guy who building MS3X for me but he can not find any issue with with ECU. So now I ordered a new one. Too bed to not knowing with reason of the problem

Not seeing any loss of sync issues in the tooth log.

You can one miss in trigger log.

I dont now whats wrong. Does not matter even If I set rev limit down to 5000 rpm it breaks as soon kpa goes above 105kpa.

Today i got new MS3X and it works just fine.

Dontknow what to do with a old one.
I do not want to just throw it away when I still have paid for it and barely used it

I normally don't use trigger logs - you can tell that an engine has lost sync in them, but they provide absolutely zero information as to why. So I did not open that file because I would not have been able to get any useful information from it. Did you try turning off all noise filtering in case it was filtering out real pulses?

I suspect what the problem is now.
Sync loss is so small that it shows zero sync loss counts and only sync loss reason 2
I suspect the generator belt jumps and gives the slag.
Belt tensioner is not sprung on this car.
I'll install the stock belt tensioner and test again.

I've found that the current peaks is very sensitive for the MS3X running VAG 115 coils that give the slag.
