Ms3x 1uzfe vvti

Post by SupraUZ »

Can someone please explain the wiring for this setup. From what I've seen, the builds on here are with mspro and I'd like to know what I need to do to make vvti function with ms3x.

The solenoids themselves should be two pin connections. 1 pin goes to switched 12V while the second connects to a switched to ground PWM output. Polarity does not matter.

You need to hook up both solenoids to their own medium current outputs on the MS3X. Pin 27 is already labeled as VVT. The other output can go to any spare medium current outputs. Each solenoid will be individually controlled by the ECU.

That's the tricky part.

The 1UZ uses a VR sensor while the ECU expects the secondary cam input to come from either PT4, MS3X Cam Input (which is likely already being used as the main cam), JS10 PT5, or Datalog PT6. None of those inputs can accept an AC high voltage signal so you need a VR conditioner to convert the signal to a nice 5V signal.

You can make the circuit in the proto area or, the easier way, use a premade conditioner like the one I linked below.
