Is this an AVCS camshaft for sti usdm?
You're right, there is no tooth, but slots: 2 on the picture (cosworth), but you confirm 3? Not 4?

Too bad...
James, do you think it's feasible to manage this AVCS pattern?
Please...
Thanks,

Can you provide composite logs from "log crank and cam" mode ?

I will have my car in one week, my mechanic checks that the new engine is working perfectly.
It is running with an ms2extra for the moment, with 36-2-2-2 target but without cam signal, else the engine doesn't start. But with the starter I can create the composite log file, I will post It next week.
Thanks!

Best to remove the spark plugs too, so the engine cranks smoothly.

Hi James,
I tried to log the cam signal on my ms2extra v3.1.1 with the composite view, but I can not have the cam signal.
I checked with my oscilloscope the cam signal on JS10 : it is ok (of course I have a conditioner, LM1815, which I used with my previous subaru 6/7 engine).
When I select "use cam signal if available" in TS, it does nothing, the car cranks with this option 'on' or 'off', as it has no effect.

What I don't understand is that I saw the cam signal in the composite logger at my 1st tries to crank, and now I can't see it again.

Here is a picture showing the cam signal on pin JS10 of the MS2 cpu board :

Has anyone got the 2008-2009 usdm wrx ej25 with intake vvt running with the 36-2-2-2vvt code?
I will try today to go from wasted spark cop to cop as it seems that with time this has worn out the engines cop coils (as they work twice) i have an ignition missfire when engine heats up an is ok when cold.
I will try to use the X board cam in (set zcpoint to 2.5v) with and without the jp7 jumper.
Will also try the js10 for cam in if the other doenst solve the problem.
I was never answered if i should use the cam sensor on the battery side or the turbo side. (Both are on the back of the intake cams).
The cam sensors are hall type (12v, gnd and signal) but according to the 2009 service manual the signal is not the same in both.

It synced! Finally! Ok so i used the rh signal (green/orange) pin11 of the b134 connector. I tried the other sensor (lh) but it didnt sync.
Fully sequential atm. I used the x borad cam in as described in the manual, set both pots left and then set r11 until zcpoint gave 2.5volts. JP7 removed.
:yeah!:

Today i went out to test the sequential feature with some borrowed cops and the missfire was gone.. anyways while doing a second gear pull something happened and while i was listening to knock it knocked and went a bit lean and i inmediately lifted my foot, after that the engine sounds like with three cylinders, went back and shut the engine off and tried to start it again... no sync now. Mf piece of sh...
I switched back to semisequential/wasted cop and it read rpm fine and started.. although still sounds like three cylinders..So why would i loose sync after everything was fine? I will test if the cam signal is pulsing as it did before.

Ok turns out one of the coil connectors had disconnected (why it sounded as 3cyl) and for some strange reason that caused the ecu not to read rpm properly :?:
I would have thought it should still be able to start but with 3cylindrs :/ not cool.

James,

Reminder, I did attach the logs that you are asking about. These are in post #27
Let me know if any other logs are necessary if those do not suffice.
