MS3 SDcard short datalogs

Post by jsmcortina »

I've had a number of reports by email or Facebook regarding a recent occurence of short SDcard datalogs when using "trigger" mode.

I'm not seeing this and haven't been able to replicate it on the bench.

Anyone seeing this please post up install details along with .MSQ, .MSL, .MS3 etc.

It should over-write the oldest file.

However, keep the card empty. It can take a very long time to create a file on a very full card.

The files are numbered sequentially, so it will delete the lowest number.

In recent testing I was finally able to repeat this problem.

Short answer:
Fixed in pre-1.5 beta 10 upwards. A 1.4.x beta will be released soon.

Long answer:
This appears to be related to a combination of SDcard quality, interface circuit in the ECU and the firmware not correctly handling a reported error.
I've tweaked the firmware to retry if it gets an error.
