JS4 tach out

Post by luke2152 »

Have just made the switch to ms3 from ms2. I was using JS4 for my tach out. Can't find that option on ms3 in tunerstudio. Is the pin called something else or do I need to run it off another pin. Thanks.

That's not supported in the current release, but will be available in the next pre-1.5 alpha.

JS4 not supported for "tach out" or not at all? I don't see it listed even under the programmable I/O menu, unless another alias is being used for it.

In 1.4.x and earlier JS4 isn't supported as a digital output. In 1.5.x it will be supported. I haven't added it to the on/off outputs yet, but could.

OK thanks for info. Can I jumper it from one of the pin headers on the ms3 card? (I'm not using ms3x).
All other tach output options offered in tunerstudio are already in use for other things. (Except PK1, PK3, PK7, PM2 I don't know what these ones are and whether they are on the mainboard or the ms3 card or the ms3x card).

With care, yes.

I can't find a pinout for the 36 pin header. Which pin should/could I use (I'm guessing one of them is actually intended for tach out). Thanks

It's in the Hardware manual.

I have no doubt it's in there but all I can find is the section telling me to use IAC on the main board and that diy mods to the ms3 card are beyond the scope of the manual. No doubt it's actually obvious but I can't see it
