right now im using the stock igniter and coil for the car.
this evening after work i'll convert the car to coil on plug using the toyota coils which will eleminate coil, coil wires and igniter from the equation and come back with the results

Re: no sync loss at idle but on rpm
i seem to remember my car would advance timing with rpm when i was using the wrong edge setting. so may be an idea to check both rising and falling for 'ignition input capture edge' as well as taking some tooth logs while you are testing
1990 bmw 320i daily driver with m20b25 ms3 sequential fuel, 380cc injectors, d585 coil near plug, home made cam sync, launch control, fan control, vss, homebrew egt logging what's next????
Re: no sync loss at idle but on rpm
ok switched to wasted cop. so problem was a dodgy igniter/coil.
