Random Cam sync loss, mitsu CAS

Post by 240Kyle »

Details,

1991 Volvo 240 with b230ft with ms3x using a DSM CAS from a Mitsubishi Eclipse/Galant

The car has been running great for over a month, today the temp dropped by about 20 degrees here. The drive to work is 30 minutes. This morning, it ran flawless, but on the way back it had about 17 sync loss, sync loss reason 17.

Attached are the msq, and two logs. I will try some noise filtering to see if that solves it. But I wanted to see if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

I read you're running the Yoshifab wheel in one of the other threads. Try changing the capture edge to "falling edge" and see how it does. That may give enough time between the primary tach signal and the secondary signal. Sync loss 17 has to do with when the secondary trigger is picked up in relation to the primary trigger.

I made the change to falling edge and the car wouldn't start. Will I need to retime it?

I turned on filtering, just for the cam and it still has random sync loss.
