MS3-PRO Alternator control LS1 Corvette Alt
I just finished the wiring on my MS3-pro and im working on my tune. How does everyone control the alt? Im using a Corvette 1 wire alt. I believe its from a 05 but looks the same as my old 2000 vette.
I currently have it directly wired to the PWM-1 iirc.
Thanks
Jay

Add a pull up resistor to 12 volts; you can then run it with on/off control.

Any idea on what size resistors I should try?

I checked the MS3-Pro manual and there don't appear to be any alternator wiring diagrams are these planned?Matt Cramer wrote:Add a pull up resistor to 12 volts; you can then run it with on/off control.
For now, you can use the MS3X/V357 Hardware Manual as inspiration, start here:

No need to read the draft, the manual I linked is newer and includes them.acedeuce802 wrote:http://www.msextra.com/forums/download/ ... p?id=45855

We've just put together a set of 1.5 manuals that include this. I'll get them over to you.

Re: MS3-PRO Alternator control LS1 Corvette Alt
I figured I would reply to this since i got it working.
So I ran the PWM/Idle wire to the ALT, ran a pull up resister to the same wire (an ignition wire with a 1k ohm resister). Fired up my car and was still only seeing 13.2V. I was totally stumped, decided to put a voltmeter on the car and it was working 14.65v idle. I had to calibrate the Battery voltage on tuner studio. After that it really messed with the fueling. I actually had to adjust it like 0.5v then add 10% to my VE then adjust again etc. until tuner studio matched what the voltmeter was.
ON/OFF Mode on tunerstudio and set it to INVERTED
Thanks for the help! Hopefully ill get the car out for a test drive tomorrow!
