HELP! sync loss problem...

Post by cardelino18 »

I need some help. i have a 1jzgte non vvti with an ms3x. i wired it up with new shielded wires on crank and cam sensor. i also added a 10kohms resistor (to each cam and crank sensor), ive played with noise filtering settings, and nothing. i need help because im getting very frustated with it. it revs good until around 2800-3000rpm then gets sync loss for a sec, if i keep reving it, it passes and revs clearly after it breaks up.

Attached is a composite logg, actual log of the tunerstudio with settings, and the trigger logger.

any help will be very appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Your problem is all on the cam sensor. Is that with stock sensors?

I elected to get rid of the cam sensor on my Honda motor.

The red Hall in the photo comes from DIY.

Can you get to a scope to see what the cam signal looks like?

This is what my crank sensor looks like. My cam sensor looks like a square wave.

Are you running the newest 1.5 code? It has some new tricks under the covers.

If you look at that composite log, you can see where the code misses a couple of cam teeth in a row. Look at page 75 in the log.

What could be causing this? ive been trying to fix this for the past 2 months.... it only does it at this point on the RPM, it revs out good after that hickup. I am out of ideas on how to fix this... any help please.

Can you describe what you have for a can sensor and cam trigger pin. Hall sensor, VR sensor... Pics help for us to figure what is in there now.

Just for reference, here is what I going to for cam sync.

And here is the modified stock cam pin and the Hall sensor from DIYAutotune.

But we have the tools to make this sort of thing. Most people don't.

i think its a VR sensor, i am double checking it with my tuner who is helping me with this issue as well. I am not very techy savvy when it comes to electrical specifics, i just wired it up to all the oem sensors and started to learn alot more than expected lol. Once i have a solid answer i will post it, its a little early here so idk if he is awake.
