Can I use the GM coolant temp sensor for oil temp as well? I can't find the exact range of the sensor. When I google it I find anything from 146F to 300F as the max reading on the sensor. I have the kind sold by diyautotune.com
If not does anyone know where I can get a oil temp sensor that has known data to work with?

Sure, it will work fine for oil temp. In fact, GM used the exact same P/N for ECT and trans-temp sensors in some models. Wait until tomorrow, I expect Matt C. from DIY will post a chart/link for their item.
I have seen cal curves for the GM going from -40F to 341F.

Oh good that sounds promising. I just couldn't find a clear answer as to how high the GM coolant sensor will go.

High enough...
To read CLT over 250F you have to check off "extended temp range" option.
Its found in the basic load settings>gauge and setting limits>air-cooled expanded clt range.
Otherwise absolutely nothing will go over 250F, tables included.
It was primarily intended for aircooled rides, where a 350F CHT is perfectly normal, but you may need it for oil too.
If you are just using the sensor setup on another input, rather than using oil temp for CLT (has been done, but its way too slow) , yes, it will read over 300F fine.

Always doing things the hard way, MS2 sequential w/ v1.01 mainboard, LS2 coils. 80 mile/day commuter status.

Ah ok. Thank you. No I will not be using the actual CLT input. Rather adding an additional sensor on another input and reading in oil temp.

Yes, I use one as an oil temp sensor
