Ms3 daughterboard doubt
Hi so a client of mine had some mechanics mess up with the wiring of this mitsubishi 6g74 and it seems they ruined something on the daughterboard because the engine wont start anymore and laptop wont recognize the ecu like others i have just tested.
Unknown device message comes up no matter what driver is installed and with my other ms3 ecus it connects and communicates fine.
So what could be fried within the daughterboard? (In case its something minor)
Or should i just buy a new daughterborad for my client?

Re: Ms3 daughterboard doubt
First try reloading the firmware with the boot jumper. If the daughterboard doesn't outright have VREF or the 12V supply shorted to ground, I'd give this a 75% chance of getting it up and running.

The problem is that when pluging the usb cable to the laptop i get the "unknown device" message as when a driver is not installed, but of course it is installed and working fine with my other ms3 ecus.

Is that when it is powered-up with the boot jumper in place on the mainboard?

Powered or not powered it wont recognize it when plugging in the usb cable.
I havent tried the boot jumper thing, is it the one near the proto area? Or on the daughterboard?

Re: Ms3 daughterboard doubt
It's on the mainboard. "Near the proto area" seems right, but I haven't looked lately. The cap is a small one, across the the two boot-jumper header pins? Leave the cap there and install a jumper, the jumper will "over-ride" the cap while in place. With the jumper there, apply power to MS and then try to connect to the TS computer.

The bootjumper is on the MS3 card.

Oops! But, what is "H1", the two pins connected to R6 on the V3.0 board? That is labelled "Bootloader Entry" on the schematic.

Re: Ms3 daughterboard doubt
Hi guys I did the procedure and it worked, bridged the boot terminals on the daughterboard, connected usb, started firmware loader and followed the steps, loaded the msq and the 6g74 is running again.
thanks to all!
