Megasquirt:
MS3x
Firmware version 1.5.0
https://www.diyautotune.com/support/tec ... mod-motor/ (Hardware mods for MS2 V3.0 board direct coil control w/ distributorless engine)
Powered by V2.2 Megastim at the moment
Map Daddy 4
Car:
2000 Ford 4.6L modular motor
2003 Ford cobra ignition coils
2 quad spark boxes wired in
Factory 36-1 CAS
Factory cam angle sensor
GM coolant and air temp sensors
Issues:
Cannot get RPM signal output
Cannot get fuel pump to prime initially
Cannot get fuel pump circuit to ground under I/O testing, or ever
Not RPM synced light remains red
Ready right remains green
Protocol error light on (New this morning)
I have read all Megasquirt manuals more than once and I'm just at a loss now, especially with the protocol error light. When I first put this board together everything worked, the stim would cause the rpm to react, the fuel pump circuit would ground as normal.
Not RPM synced, no fuel pump, no ignition output...

I think you need to check why you don't have a rpm-signal. Without sync you won't get anything else.
Check the composite/tooth loggers to see if you get any signals.

I think that old-style stim can't output a 36-1 CKP signal, try changing to "basic trigger" in your MSQ.

Yup, you got it. I've been using this Megastim since the mid 2000's and I forget how much MS has improved. I'm going to have to upgrade that thing.billr wrote:I think that old-style stim can't output a 36-1 CKP signal, try changing to "basic trigger" in your MSQ.
Now my last issue is, the fuel pump circuit still isn't grounding pin 37. I was hoping that would fix itself when it was sync'ed.
