MSpnp pro vvt swapped 91 miata issues

Post by BEdrifting »

Dear megasquirt owners,

I am in the final stage in my vvt swap the first startup. However this is pretty much where I'm stuck.
The megasquirt doesn't want to connect to my laptop. I use a USB to serial adapter from DIYautotune, the ecu is from them aswell.
A rundown of what is happening:
- The portchecker program sais there is no ecu to be found but there is 1 valid port.
- The first and fourth led are on, so the ecu has power
- The fuses F1 and F3: F1 has 0.76V and F3 gets nothing.

Things done to the car:
- '03 VVT 1.8l engine
- '03 TPS
- '03 coils/ignition system (modified the NA ignitor by connecting 1/2 , 4/5, 7/8 together, and doing the wiring changes as descriped by the VVT megathread by Sav on the turbo miata forum: https://www.miataturbo.net/engine-perfo ... ead-80469/ )
- MS pnp pro 90 - 93 miata

What is going on with my megasquirt? google searching didn't help and the MS3 manual troubleschooting guide didn't help eather :(

Thank you so much in advance,
Cedric

No need to post in multiple locations...... As I stated in your other post you have no 5VREF likely due to a miswired TPS and if an MS3 Pro loses 5V (any variant as far as I know) it will not function.
