Analog gear input
I installed a powerglide over the winter and would like to indicate the gear change. I've tried vss/rpm over the weekend and the indication comes in lat
What I have done is installed a no/nc microswitch on the shifter. I've wired the nc side to my boost target switch so when in low gear the switch active with no ground input to Pro and when I bump to high gear it's unactivated which grounds the Pro and switches to boost target 2
I'd like to use maybe the other side of the switch which is normally open and indicate gear change. Is a scenario where it needs a 1k pull up to 5v so ground and 5v? My fear is maybe during the switch operation voltage may bleed over and send 5v on the input pin for the boost table switching

Re: Analog gear input
You can get "break-before-make" switches, but a DPDT switch would be easier to find and more certain. Or... throw in an SSR?

Re: Analog gear input
Ahhh, a relay. Just a standard one would work for the data I'm looking for. I have some of the mini 20 amp ones. Is ly thinking correct about using ground and a 5v pull-up with a 1k resistor?

Re: Analog gear input
Or you can use a pressure switch on the test port of the trans.
Correctly identify your MS ecu here

Re: Analog gear input
Have you got a spare output you can turn on when Boost Target switches?

Re: Analog gear input
I'm logging tranny pressure off the servo port and it doesn't change on the gear shift
Iirc I'm out of inputs and outputs on the pro, but do have some left on the micro I/o box
I can look at boost target, but if traction control is active, it's not definite using that

Re: Analog gear input
I was thinking more along the lines of using the input state of the current boost target switch's input. So triggering the output from the appropriate ports bitfield value.
