Cascade outputs?

Post by AlanJ »

Is there a way to have multiple conditions before an output is triggered without creating logic via relays? I'm trying to make a "beast mode" switch.

So far I have the turbo servo, intercooler fan, cut outs etc. Controlled by a relay that enables or disables the relays attached to MS. They work okay but shutting off beast mode kills the engine and resets all the electronics in the truck. It's a huge power spike from 8 relays all shutting off at once.

Or is there a better dampining circuit than diodes alone?

Look into "loops".

I have to ask, what exactly is a "beast mode switch"?

Can you post a log and tune. Would be nice to see the relationship of voltage rise to maybe a injector dead time chart that needs tuned

A switch on the dash that when flipped
Turns on intercooler fan
Enables a servo motor on the turbo waste gate
Changes fuel ratio
Opens cut outs in exhaust
Turns on under truck LEDs
Changes headlight accent color to red.

It's too short. Megasquirt resets, the radio resets, etc.

Sounds like you have some wiring issues then. There's no way the switch load of several relays should have that effect, even with the discharge spike, which should be handled by adding some flyback diodes. Even the loads that you are switching shouldn't cause the effect you're getting.
